Sesshomaru and Kagura FAQs

Sesshomaru and Kagura are canon.

1) Wasn't Sesshomaru willing to let Kagura drown in the river, only jumping in to save her after Rin jumped in?
2) Didn't he hate her/show annoyance towards her until after she died?
3) Didn't Sesshomaru move on from Kagura's death very easily? His reaction to Rin's death was bigger!
4) I thought that Kagura's feelings for Sesshomaru were one-sided?
5) I thought that Sesshomaru only had compassion for Kagura?
6) Then what about seeing her as a sister or a family member?
7) But when Tenseiga said that his heart has been changed in a way that it hasn't been before, didn't it mean that this was the first time that Sesshomaru tried to save someone that he didn't love since when he saves Rin it hurts him personally?
8) When Tenseiga said that Sesshomaru's heart now has what it was lacking because of Kagura, didn't it mean that this was the first time that he really grieved over and had sorrow and anger for someone else's death?
9) But Kagura died! Doesn't that mean that Sesshomaru/Kagura can't possibly be a canon pairing?
10) But didn't Sesshomaru save Kagome and Jaken and all those people too?
11) Don't they have to be married or kiss or something for them to be a canon couple?
12) But Kagura is Naraku's incarnation, an incarnation of Sesshomaru's enemy!
13) I thought that Rin was Sesshomaru's love interest since Rin is alive and Kagura is dead?
14) Are you saying that I have to like Sesshomaru/Kagura instead of whatever I like right now?

Q: Wasn't Sesshomaru willing to let Kagura drown in the river, only jumping in to save her after Rin jumped in?

A: Actually, he didn't jump in after Rin either. He kind of just stood there. Sesshomaru didn't actually try to save anyone from that river until after JAKEN jumped in. Only then did he move. So what are you trying to say? That he doesn't care about Rin either, and that Jaken is the ONLY person that he cares about?

Also, Sesshomaru did the exact same thing when he first met Rin. When he first saw Rin's dead body after she was killed by wolves, Sesshomaru was originally going to ignore her and leave her dead (manga chapter 131, page 5). He paused because of her smile, but Sesshomaru didn't actually save Rin until AFTER Tenseiga pulsed and told him to save her (manga chapter 131, page 7).

However, that doesn't mean that he doesn't care, now does it? Sesshomaru is like that. That's just kind of how his personality is. He's the "stoic" character who likes to pretend that he cares about nobody, and deny that he has any good in him. But that doesn't mean that he doesn't care-it just means that he's struggling to keep his persona on and TRY not to care...

Although he failed. He saved her anyway. Kagura was the largest, heaviest and the most burdensome out of all of them, and she was wet and unconscious. It would have been much easier to just ignore Kagura, and yet he didn't.

Plus afterwards, Sesshomaru stayed there. He didn't leave until after she woke up and he knew that she was okay, which he definitely did not have to do.

Sesshomaru also warned Kagura not to do anything that would get her killed (by telling her that any further actions on her part were futile because Naraku already knows that she's going after his heart) and watched her leave with a very worried expression on his face (manga chapter 350/351).

Q: Didn't he hate her/show annoyance towards her until after she died?

A: When and where does Sesshomaru show any hatred or annoyance towards Kagura in any way, shape, or form? Sure at first he was wary of her because he didn't know her and because she was Naraku's detachment, but he soon gets over that. As a matter of fact, Sesshomaru was very tolerant towards Kagura-she used to yell and scream and curse at him and he'd just stand there, allowing it (manga chapter 203, page 16). Kagura was the one who expressed disdain towards Sesshomaru, not the other way around. Sesshomaru never said one abusive WORD towards Kagura, even while she was standing there screaming at him. He let her get away with EVERYTHING, including KIDNAPPING RIN.

When Kagura kidnapped Rin (manga chapter 219), Sesshomaru blamed Naraku and choked Kohaku, but didn't say a word to Kagura-he acted like he didn't even care about it. No mention of it, even though Jaken constantly reminded him that it was Kagura. In fact, after a little while, he took it upon himself to go to her and not the other way around. When they were looking for the gateway to the path between this world and the next and Kagura was just standing there (manga chapter 318), Sesshomaru hopped on the rock, got closer to her, and asked her what she knew even though during the encounter before, she had kidnapped Rin.

Jaken already told Sesshomaru about Kagura kidnapping Rin (manga chapter 219, page 7/8) so he knew that Kagura kidnapped Rin, and Rin was HIDING IN FEAR of her, and he did this. And don't tell me that Sesshomaru wasn't mad because Kagura was under Naraku's orders-Kohaku was also brainwashed by Naraku as well and Sesshomaru didn't hesitate to choke Kohaku (manga chapter 223, page 7).

When Sango tried to kill Rin, Sesshomaru was angry with her and threw hiraikotsu at her (but missed and almost got Byakuya, in manga chapter 543) and only forgave her because Sango offered her life to Sesshomaru and she also gave Rin her gas mask as an apology in order to shield Rin from Naraku's miasma (manga chapter 544, page 17/18).

Him and Koga never meet each other in the manga so Sesshomaru couldn't have done anything to Koga for killing Rin (and there's no evidence that he's even aware of the fact that Koga killed Rin when Sesshomaru doesn't even know who Koga is in the manga, and the filler episode doesn't count because it wasn't written by Takahashi).

But when Kagura kidnapped Rin, Sesshomaru acted like it had never even happened and didn't seem to care about it at all, even though she hadn't done anything to apologize (like Sango had).

He's also lied for her. When Kagura gave him the Fuyoheki shards, Moryoumaru asked Sesshomaru where he got them from. Jaken was about to tell the truth and tell Moryoumaru about Kagura giving them the shards, but Sesshomaru told Jaken to shut up and and lied about it in order to protect her (manga chapter 365, page 6/7). Not to mention the river incident. All of the above happened BEFORE she died and not after. So the relationship had been slowly progressing for a while, with him showing a bit of mistrust in the beginning only, but getting over it.

Q: Didn't Sesshomaru move on from Kagura's death very easily? His reaction to Rin's death was bigger!

A: Read the answer to the question above. Not only that, Sesshomaru blew aside a chance to kill Naraku in order to get to Kagura while she was dying (manga chapter 371, page 4). He made sure to let her know that he had come to see her specifically (which is something that he does not do, he usually tells people that he was "just passing through" or that they were "just in the way" when he gets caught helping someone). He drew Tenseiga to save her. Tenseiga didn't ask him to save her, but he tried anyway and he stayed with her until the end and he was touched by her smile.

Sesshomaru became infuriated and knowingly put his own life in danger and broke his only offensive sword despite everyone's warnings just because Moryoumaru said a few bad words about Kagura. Everyone was standing there, yelling at him to pull the sword out because it was gonna break (in the manga, chapters 406/407) and plus like Inuyasha said, his nose is sharp-so he knew that it was gonna break. He knew that he had no real way to fight without it, but risked his life anyway. If Inuyasha hadn't intervened at the last second, he probably wouldn't have gotten out alive. Even Moryoumaru had to point it out.

Tenseiga itself called out to Totosai, saying that Sesshomaru's heart had been changed in a way that it never has been before because of Kagura and that it was now ready to transform into a fighting sword (manga chapter 409, page 15). That was the FIRST time, the VERY first time that he'd been moved enough-meaning that not even Rin had enough influence on him. When he was told about it, Sesshomaru instantly knew that Tenseiga was talking about Kagura. Tenseiga didn't transform into a fighting weapon because of Rin or anyone else. It was Sesshomaru's feelings for Kagura, as confirmed by Tenseiga itself, that took his heart to that next level. He then vowed over the sword to make sure that she hadn't died in vain (manga chapter 410, page 17).

Sure sounds like he "moved on very easily", huh? Nope. He didn't. It was a huge deal. You have confirmation from Jaken, Rin, Moryoumaru, the entire Inu-tachi, Tenseiga, and Totosai that something is happening here. Not to mention Rin's support. That is NOT easily moving on.

While I do agree that Sesshomaru's immediate reaction to Rin's death was bigger than his immediate reaction to Kagura's death, the stuff that happened afterwards with Kagura were bigger than the stuff that happened with Rin.

Sesshomaru dropped his sword for Rin, but he BROKE his sword for Kagura, and breaking a sword is a much bigger deal than dropping a sword, wouldn't you agree? And Tenseiga, which can read hearts, did not transform into a fighting weapon because of Rin. Tenseiga only transformed into a fighting weapon because of Sesshomaru's feelings for Kagura. His Meidou Zangetsuha grew wider because of what he did for Rin, but Sesshomaru got a complete and total new technique and a new fighting sword because of his feelings for Kagura, and having a healing shiv transform into a fighting sword and getting a new technique is a bigger deal than a meidou growing wider.

Q: I thought that Kagura's feelings for Sesshomaru were one-sided?

A: Incorrect. It was implied that Sesshomaru returned Kagura's feelings all the times that he tried to save her and when he became infuriated that Moryoumaru insulted Kagura and broke Tokijin over her (manga chapters 406/407), and it was COFIRMED that he returned her feelings when Tenseiga transformed into a fighting weapon because of Sesshomaru's feelings for Kagura, and then he vowed over the sword to avenge her (manga chapters 409/410).

Anyone who's actually read Rumiko Takahashi's works before knows that if a character's feelings are one-sided, then she makes it very OBVIOUS that their feelings are one-sided and she makes the other characters state that their feelings are one-sided over and over again like she had with Koga/Kagome and Naraku/Kikyo. Rumiko would not have written in something like "Sesshomaru's Tenseiga, which was previously only a healing shiv that couldn't cut anything, transforms into a fighting weapon and gains a new offensive technique because of Sesshomaru's feelings for Kagura and then he vows over the sword to avenge her" in there unless she was trying to show that Kagura's feelings WERE returned.

By contrast, Rumiko Takahashi's romantic couples are not always so obvious. In Ranma 1/2, which is another manga that was written by Rumiko Takahashi, Ranma and Akane spent the majority of the series denying their feelings for each other and they did not actually get together until the very end of the manga, even though they were the main couple of Ranma 1/2. If the MAIN COUPLE of one of Takahashi's manga did not verbally state their feelings for each other until the very last chapter of the manga, then Sesshomaru and Kagura do not have to verbally state their feelings for each other for Sess/Kagura to be a canon pairing, as both Sesshomaru and Kagura are side characters.

It may not have been blatant enough for the fans because it wasn't verbally stated, however that doesn't change her intentions for writing the scene. She probably thought that the "Tenseiga is re-forged into a fighting weapon because of Sesshomaru's feelings for Kagura" scene would be enough to show that Sesshomaru had feelings for Kagura and that her feelings were returned. Takahashi probably didn't feel the need to verbally state it because she didn't think that she'd need to; she probably didn't realize that if it wasn't verbally stated then it wouldn't be blatant enough for the fans.

I also know that Takahashi has a habit of introducing brand new characters just to serve as love interests for other characters, and then forgetting about them. In Ranma 1/2, which is another manga that was written by Rumiko Takahashi, Rumiko introduced a character named Akari to be a love interest for Ryoga just to try give Ryoga a happy ending, and the Akari character was only around for one or two chapters at maximum. Takahashi pretty much forgot about Akari afterwards. Ukyo was also given a new love interest in the form of an effeminate transvestite ninja master, and the ninja was also only around for one chapter and then forgotten about.

Sometimes she does this just to deter the fans from shipping pairings that she doesn't want them to ship. So I get the feeling that the same thing happened during the "Inuyasha" series. In Urusei Yatsura, which is another manga that was written by Takahashi, Ryuunosuke was given a love interest in Nagisa, however Nagisa was only around for one chapter and then forgotten about afterwards; so the same thing probably happened with Sesshomaru and Kagura. Everything with Kagura probably happened because Rumiko Takahashi realized that people were shipping Sesshomaru and Rin together in a romantic manner and then she decided "hey look, I made Kagura follow Sesshomaru like she has a crush on him, why don't I elaborate on that a bit more?" and then she put all the Sess/Kagura stuff in there in order to try to deter the fandom from shipping Sesshomaru with Rin, and then she forgot about it afterwards like she usually does.

So yes, Rumiko introduced Kagura as a love interest for Sesshomaru in order to try to deter the fandom from shipping Sesshomaru with Rin, meant all the Sess/Kagura stuff in a romantic manner, and then she forgot about Kagura afterwards as usual. Takahashi does that kind of stuff all the time.

Q: I thought that Sesshomaru only had compassion for Kagura?

A: Tenseiga said that Sesshomaru's heart has been changed in a way that it HASN'T BEEN BEFORE. Sesshomaru's heart has what it was LACKING because of Kagura, there was a CHANGE in his heart because of her. This means that Sesshomaru felt something for Kagura that he did not feel for anybody else in the series before.

It can't be compassion that he had for Kagura then, because Sesshomaru's heart was NOT lacking in compassion. All those times when Sesshomaru saved Rin, when he saved Jaken, and when he saved Kagome from Mukotsu, he was showing them compassion. We've seen Sesshomaru show compassion to others plenty of times in the series before-for Rin, for his brother, for Kagome, for Jaken etc. so it can't be that.

The only kind of feeling that Sesshomaru has never shown to anyone else in the series before that his heart was LACKING in is the romantic kind.

Q: Then what about seeing her as a sister or a family member?

A: Relationships like the ones between families and lifelong friends (like the relationship between Sesshomaru and Rin) take time to develop. In order to love someone like family, you have to know them much better than that. A family relationship like the one that Rin and Sesshomaru have takes time to develop, what with Rin following Sesshomaru for anywhere from a year to three years and living with Sesshomaru and whatnot. Sesshomaru and Kagura didn't even know each other very well, so that can't be it. She only visited him a couple of times.

A crush, however, does not take so long to develop, you very well can have a crush on someone that you don't know very well, and crushes CAN very well stir intense emotions in someone (like the feelings that Sesshomaru's been shown to have for Kagura). Koga developed romantic feelings for Kagome the first time that he met her.

And once again, Tenseiga said that Sesshomaru's heart has been changed in a way that it HASN'T BEEN BEFORE. There was a CHANGE in Sesshomaru's heart because of Kagura, his heart has what it was LACKING because of her. This means that Sesshomaru felt something for Kagura that he did not feel for anybody else in the series before.

It can't be filial love that he had for Kagura then, because Sesshomaru's heart was NOT lacking in platonic love. We've seen Sesshomaru show platonic love to others plenty of times in the series before-for Rin, for his father, for his brother, etc. so it can't be that.

The only kind of feeling that Sesshomaru has never shown to anyone else in the series before that his heart was LACKING in is the romantic kind.

Q: But when Tenseiga said that his heart has been changed in a way that it hasn't been before, didn't it mean that this was the first time that Sesshomaru tried to save someone that he didn't love since when he saves Rin it hurts him personally?

A: So if THAT was what was notable about Sesshomaru's situation with Kagura...then why didn't Tenseiga change into a fighting weapon after any of the shit-tons of other times when Sesshomaru saved someone that he didn't love? He didn't love Kagome and he saved her from Mukotsu (manga chapter 240, page 2). Sesshomaru didn't love Jaken, but he saved Jaken with the Tenseiga after Jaken was killed by Kaijinbo (manga chapter 159, page 7). He didn't love that otter papa and he saved the otter papa.

Tenseiga said that there was a CHANGE in Sesshomaru's heart, his heart now has what it was LACKING because of Kagura. This means that Sesshomaru felt something for Kagura that he did not feel for anybody else in the series before. Sesshomaru has tried to save people that he didn't love plenty of times in the series before. So it can't be that.

Let's face it. The only kind of feeling that Sesshomaru has never shown to anyone else in the series before that his heart was LACKING in is the romantic kind.

Q: When Tenseiga said that Sesshomaru's heart now has what it was lacking because of Kagura, didn't it mean that this was the first time that he really grieved over and had sorrow and anger for someone else's death?

A: Actually, the first time that Sesshomaru really grieved over and had sorrow and anger for someone else's death was when his father died.

Sesshomaru was clearly very affected by his father's death and had sorrow and anger for his father, as evidenced by the fact that he continuously dwells on receiving his father's acceptance and becomes very angry when he thinks that his father favored Inuyasha. So if the only thing that Sesshomaru's heart was lacking in was grieving over someone's death and having sorrow and anger for someone else...then why didn't Tenseiga transform into a fighting weapon when Sesshomaru grieved over his father's death? Why didn't Tenseiga transform into a fighting weapon when Sesshomaru very clearly displayed sorrow and anger for his father?

Because that's not what Sesshomaru's heart was lacking in. The only kind of feeling that Sesshomaru has never shown to anyone else in the series before that his heart was LACKING in is the romantic kind.

Q: But Kagura died! Doesn't that mean that Sesshomaru/Kagura can't possibly be a canon pairing?

A: Actually, in TRAGIC romances, one person usually dies before the other. Kagura was probably killed off because the whole Sess/Kagura thing was supposed to be a tear-jerking, tragic thing. Just because she died doesn't mean that Sesshomaru and Kagura did not have feelings for each other. In Ranma 1/2, which is another manga drawn by Rumiko Takahashi, Soun's love interest was dead throughout the entire thing.

Just because one party died before the other doesn't mean that the feelings don't exist. Think back to the loved ones that you lost-does the fact that they died mean that you never loved each other? No. If they have feelings for each other then it's a canon pairing, whether one party ends up dying or not. And Sesshomaru and Kagura definitely do have feelings for each other, which makes them a canon pairing.

Q: But didn't Sesshomaru save Kagome and Jaken and all those people too?

A: There's a difference beween a one-time passing through thing and having a relationship with someone, not to mention that Tenseiga didn't change into a fighting weapon for any of those instances and only transformed into a fighting weapon because of Sesshomaru's feelings for Kagura, meaning that this instance is different from those and that Sesshomaru felt something for Kagura that he didn't feel for anybody else. That means that this was the first time that this had happened, it was special, more notable and different from those instances. It obviously had a much bigger emotional impact on him and played a direct hand in changing him than those instances.

Q: Don't they have to be married or kiss or something for them to be a canon couple?

A: Actually, Rumiko Takahashi is notorious for not giving her canon pairings resolutions like that and dancing around in circles, teasing her readers. In Ranma 1/2, which is another manga that was written by Rumiko Takahashi, Ranma and Akane spent the majority of the series denying their feelings for each other and they didn't officially get together until the very last chapter of the manga, as we discussed above. And when they finally did admit their feelings for each other, they didn't go any further than holding hands, even though they were engaged. Inuyasha and Kagome never kiss (in the manga-Final Act and Movie 2 don't count because none of that was written by Rumiko Takahashi). Plenty of her canon couples never get married. You don't need full out make-out sessions for the couple to be a canon pairing. Plus the Japanese like for their romances to be more subtle.

As long as both characters have feelings for each other, no matter how it turns out from then on, it's a canon pairing. And as we have discussed above, Sesshomaru and Kagura do both have feelings for each other, despite not having the time to develop the relationship past a certain stage-which makes them a canon pairing.

Q: But Kagura is Naraku's incarnation, an incarnation of Sesshomaru's enemy!

A: When and where in the anime or the manga has Sesshomaru ever been shown to care about this? I know that Jaken doesn't trust Kagura because she's Naraku's incarnation, but Sesshomaru never once goes up to Kagura and tells her "oh, I don't like you because you're Naraku's incarnation" or anything like that. He never once does anything of the sort.

Even when Sesshomaru met Byakuya (manga chapter 401, page 14), he only attacked Byakuya for smelling like Naraku (and that only happened with Byakuya and never happened with Kagura.) Sesshomaru didn't say anything to Byakuya about the fact that he was Naraku's incarnation either. He's never been shown to dislike any of Naraku's incarnations strictly for being Naraku's detachments.

Q: I thought that Rin was Sesshomaru's love interest since Rin is alive and Kagura is dead?

A: Rin is canonically a SUPPORTER of Sesshomaru/Kagura. She gets very happy about the possibility of the couple, and tells Jaken to trust Kagura more because of it, seemingly trying to get them closer together (episode 167 of the anime, manga chapter 343). Would Rin act like this if she had any romantic interest in Sesshomaru whatsoever? Nope. Would Rumiko Takahashi have written her this way if she had ever intended for Rin to be Sesshomaru's love interest? Nope. Plus, Rumiko's made her feelings on pairings like those very clear when Miroku proposed to Koharu when she was eleven, and everyone was DISGUSTED and shocked by the fact that Miroku, a grown man (the age of adulthood during the feudal era was 14 so Miroku was an adult by the standards of that time when he proposed to Koharu), had proposed to a child, even though Koharu had returned to Miroku when she was grown up (manga chapter 147, page 8).

The manga is over, and Rin has gone to live with Kaede. There is no future. There is nothing after chapter 558. Those 558 chapters are the story, they are the series, they are the canon. There's nothing after that but the epilogue bonus chapter, and during the one-shot bonus chapter 559, Sesshomaru merely continues to protect Rin and there still isn't the slightest hint of anything romantic between Sesshomaru and Rin. Whether a pairing is a canon pairing or not has nothing to do with whether the characters are dead or alive or not-it's about whether or not they have feelings for each other.

Takahashi made it so that Sesshomaru and Rin have no romantic feelings for each other during the series (but more of a platonic father and daughter thing), whereas Sesshomaru and Kagura do have romantic feelings for each other during the series. So it's obvious what the canon romantic pairing is. Kagura being dead and Rin being alive does not change the ROLES that they played during the series.

That's like saying that Inuyasha/Sango is more canon than Inuyasha/Kikyo because Kikyo is dead and Sango is alive.

Rin was meant to be more like an adoptive daughter. For more on that, go here: sesshomaruandrinfaq.blogspot.com

Q: Are you saying that I have to like Sesshomaru/Kagura instead of whatever I like right now?

A: NO. You can like/dislike whatever you want, as long as you don't deny that this is the canon pairing.

  1. I can't believe that I am reading this. I was like "wow" someone finally took the time to write a very-detailed and convincing blog about Sesshomaru and Kagura's relationship. Many doubts lurk around this pairing, even I at first doubted that Sesshomaru has feelings for the wind witch but through their interactions and augmented by your smart and elaborated replies, my faith in this pairing has been restored once again haha

What irks me is that a lot of people are actually shipping Ses/Rin but its not the pairing alone that annoys me.. what bothers me is that the people who usually favor Ses and Rin would always deny the fact that Sesshomaru is (in a very unsubtle way) interested in Kagura. Blind shippers are really annoying, dont u think so too?

Anyway, I am really grateful to have come across such a persuasive review of their relationship. Now I can have some piece of mind. It has been a year since I have been finding answers to my questions and you gave them. Thank you!

  3. But what about the recent Inudrama chapter in which Sesshoumaru "declares his love" towards Rin? (I want to clarify I totally ship Kagura and Sesshomaru and that I do not ship Ses/Rin AT ALL. But after listening to it, I got in some kind of doubt and disapointment, I'm so sad)

    1. It directly contradicts what Rumiko ACTUALLY WROTE. When Miroku proposes to Koharu at age eleven and the whole crew is disgusted. Even when she came back older at age 14, Kagome comments "She's even younger than me...." Yet in the CD Kagome is ecstatic over a proposal to a twelve year old? Rumiko had no control over what they wrote. It's fan service, nothing more. I quote, "And there is no evidence that they needed to get her approval for anything, read the manga Bakuman if you wanna know how the manga industry works. The mangaka have zero control over what the anime writers do. A lot of the stuff that happened during anime filler episodes directly contradict the things that happened in the manga, so the movies and anime filler episodes were definitely not approved by Rumiko Takahashi, and neither was this Wideban CD."

  4. You can't declare Sesshomaru and Kagura cannon. They had no romantic interactions whatsoever. This is coming from a SessRin shipper. When Sesshomaru saved Rin, Jaken, and Kagura from the water was because he thought Jaken would be able to handle the task of saving Rin. That proved to be useless so he saved them. Sesshomaru stayed with Rin and Jaken because he knew Rin wouldn't budge unless she knew Kagura was okay, regardless of all the attempts Kagura made to kidnap Rin.

Sesshomaru was able to tolerate Kagura because of Rin. If Rin hadn't been brought along, Sesshomaru would still be cold-hearted to everybody. Rin is the key to Sesshomaru's new actions. His heart was able to grieve over Kagura's death because he knew that he could not save her. Sesshomaru felt like he had failed. Without Rin, Sesshomaru wouldn't have cared. Sesshomaru nearly cried for Rin because he is closer to her. Rin taught him to care for others and not just himself. When Jaken expressed Sesshomaru's sadness towards Rin's death by crying in front of Sesshomaru's mother, Sesshomaru did not deny the fact that he was heartbroken.

Anyway, the real cannon pairing here is SessRin. There was a drama disk approved by Rumiko Takahashi which contained of Sesshomaru asking Jaken and his father on how to confess to an older Rin.

    2. I think anyone bringing the drama disk up as an argument...oh well, as if this is worth more than the manga, besides the fact that it wasnt even approved of Takahashi ;D
As we see it, Sesshomaru gets softer throughout the series, so he is already more of a softie when Rin dies.
Also, their relationship is much deeper (in a father daughter way, goddammit) so of course, he was closer to crying, also because it was in this case, his fault.
Kaguras Death wasnt his fault, was it?

    3. Well, Sesshomaru-Rin didn't have any romantic interactions too! It's only a supposition of fans that, as Sesshoumaru is fond of her, it's authomatic that he'll fall in love with Rin when she'll adult! I think the couple Sesshomaru-Kagura is more cannon. It's a fact that Kagura was in love, I'm not 100% sure about Sesshomaru, because he doesn't show his feelings easily, but the fact that he went to her while she was dying just to save her and the fact that Tenseiga evolved because he was thinking about Kagura, makes me think that he definitely felt something towards her!

  7. And to this one, I will say, that Kagura and Sess could be considered a canon pairing that never saw fruition. Just like Kikyou and Inuyasha. If you think about it, there are many parts of Inuyasha's heart that Kikyou had compared to Kagome. However, there was a lot that Kagome had that Kikyou didn't either. I'm not at all implying that Kagome = Rin in this instance, but I am implying that Kagura = Kikyou.

Kikyou and Inuyasha, according to your logic, is a canon pairing. And I will even agree to that because at some point during the series, they were.

I will even say that Kagura and Sesshoumaru had the capacity to share in that same outcome. They are technically a canon pairing of the series, but one that ends in tragedy just like Kikyou and Inuyasha.

Meaning that, anything after that fact, is up for discussion. Rumiko left no one other than Rin for Sesshoumaru to care for at the end of the series, and so fans make due with what they have readily available to them. Plus, Rin and Sesshoumaru do share a bond that Kagura and he never could. Feelings that aren't shallow. Kagura and Sesshoumaru had shallow love, puppy love, but never true love for... let's be real here, they NEVER SPENT ADEQUATE TIME TOGETHER.

I think that is a big factor as well.

    1. Rin and Sesshoumaru share a bond that is platonic. If you think there could ever be something romantic between them, regardless of how old Rin is, then that is very sick and concerning. The time they spent together is that of a caregiver and a child, not that of romantic partners. How are you comparing them to Sesshoumaru and Kagura?

Sesshoumaru and Kagura's romantic dynamics are shallow puppy love? Right.. because you get THAT worked up over the death of someone you didn't have serious feelings for! *rolls eyes*..

His feelings for her, whatever they may have been, were so intense that he dropped all logic and put his life in direct harm to defend her and go as far as not only taking the responsibility to uphold her honour but to also think about her continuously after her death. Even when he went to the underworld to save Rin, she was on his mind. There's nothing shallow or "puppy" about that.

Just because it ends in tragedy doesn't mean that something wasn't there and that it wasn't serious. In the end, Sesshoumaru isn't paired up with anyone and so therefore, if there's any romantic interest for Sesshoumaru, It was most likely Kagura. It also happens to be the HEALTHY and unproblematic pairing for him. So if Kagura and Sesshoumaru are "shallow puppy love that were never that serious because they didn't spend any time together and because she died" is your argument, I'll take that "shallow love" ANY DAY over the fucked up Woody Allen + Soon Yi/Humbert + Lolita fucked up shit that people who ship Sesshoumaru and Rin push so hard.

At the end of the day, you can deny the validation of Sesshoumaru and Kagura. You don't have to see a romantic dynamic between them and ship them. But you sure lose a lot of credibility when you bring Rin into it.

  9. Thank you so much for such an in depth analysis on this topic. These are things that I picked up when reading and watching Inuyasha but was never sure about or was able to put into words. I first read this page a year ago and it helped confirm my belief regarding Sesshoumaru and Kagura's relationship.

I've always felt like, If Sesshoumaru were to end up with anyone, It would be someone like Kagura. I also believe that by the end, he admired a lot of the traits she possessed and that he definitely could have fallen for her. She's similar to him in the sense that she's reserved, a demon, independent, and so badass. But she's different in the sense that she's fire while he's ice. She would challenge him and not take his egoistic shit. Whereas he would help her channel her inner strengths and bring balance to her more intense and temperamental ways. They would grow from each other but in a way where they stay in character. His habit of speaking in third person, for example, is something i envision Kagura mocking him over all the time, hahaha! Not to mention, Kagura would get along famously with Sesshoumaru's mother. They're both so sarcastic and sassy. If she had lived, I mean. Unfortunately, her death was inevitable.

I think a lot of people don't see the possibility of a romance between them because it was all so vague. I, however, feel that given how reserved both of these characters are.. it fits them to have a romantic dynamic like this. I'd imagine no different for characters like them and thought it was done very tastefully and fitting to their characters.

I'm usually the first person to point out a platonic relationship between people and the importance of not making everything about romantic love. The interactions between Sesshoumaru and Kagura, however, have always come off as a little too intimate for it to be purely platonic. For me, Totosai saying that Kagura brought a change to Sesshoumaru's heart that was never there before supports this, among a few other things(most of which you have already provided above).

I also came across a post on tumblr that pointed out the symbolism of the flowers in Kagura's death scene being identical to the flowers the Goddess Venus had created for her dead lover Adonis and that the meaning of the name of the flower is "daughter of the wind". That cannot be a coincidence and among all the other things, it says a lot.

This is just how I strongly feel regarding this matter. I entirely acknowledge and respect the opinions of those who prefer to see Sesshoumaru and Kagura as friends/platonically and also those who see Sesshoumaru as an Aromantic and/or Asexual person.

It's just really pleasant to come across other people in the fandom who ship them also because it's such a rare and underrated ship in the fandom. So when there's little to no fan content out there for this pairing, It's good to come across content like this that people like me can literally live off of, lmaooo!

    1. I agree with you, Kagura is Sesshomaru's ideal type of woman! She's a demon and she's badass. I don't see Sesshomaru and Rin as lovers but just as father and daughter. And yes, it would have been so funny to see Sesshomaru's mother and Kagura's interactions but we'll never see it sadly. ;_;

  11. I agree that Kagura and Sesshomaru are the canon pairing and that the relation to Rin is of the type Father daughter. But loving Kagura from so early on? I do not think this. To me it seemed he could not love her while she was under Naraku's control. He was attracted to her sure, but love? Maybe is just me but I think it was something slowly developing. To me it seems that Rumiko thinks love should develop slow and does not really go for crush romances. I do not think he realized it himself before she was close to death. there was too little time. about the river scene Sesshomaru is the relunctant hero type. If someone else can do the saving in his place why bother? He usually tends to wait until the very last moment to do this type of things. One other thing: it was Rin that opened his heart not Kagura, even though the change was caused by Kagura's death. And he did feel more pain for Rin. Just think about it, which is more painful? Losing a mate/consort or a child? Men tend to not express their feelings that much and that is why when Kagura died for some it seemed he did not care. But when Rin died he could not control himself. Remember when Rin was kidnaped by the slaver demon for instance? it was one of the few times he lost his temper. So even if it is a father daughter relation he does react more deeply to her being in danger.

  13. As much as I love Kagura, she and Sesshomaru are not a canon pair. They would not make a good pair. In the manga or animation, there is not a hint that Sesshomaru likes her or loves her. Most of this blog and the other one is a fallacy

    1. why wouldn't they? She is a strong woman who thinks for herself. Sesshomary made it clear he does not go for the lovey-dovey types. There are plenty of things that point towards it. Problem is Sesshomaru is someone that shows how he feels trough his actions not words or facial expressions. That "I knew it was you" was sufficient confirmation for me and the dying Kagura.

    2. When I wrote my comment my name was Kagura lover. but I changed it. So... I did not see this comment until earlier this year but I did not respond thinking you would not be aroung. However, I seen that you still linger, therefore, I will reply.
Yes, Kagura is a strong woman who can think for herself. Yes, Sesshomaru does show more through his actions. However, "I know it was you" is not sufficient confirmation. He accepted her death unlike Rin's second death.
My opinion had nothing to do with what you responded with. Kagura wanted to be free like the wind. I would want her freedom to be where ever she wanted to be and not tied down to a man. She is strong and independent. She does not need a man. You don't have to have a relationship.

Another reason, if they did get together, They would fight. Their personalities do clash, as shown in many places in the manga and animation. They would have an unhealthy relationship where one (most likely Sesshoumaru) would kill each other. Also, She has mention how strong he is and she does seek power. That is something that turns Sesshoumaru off. Then there is the fact he only felt compassion. I could not like to be forced with someone I don't like or love. Talk about your arranged marriages. Sesshoumaru is my favorite character. Period. Kagura is in the top 10 over all and maybe top 5 in the females.

I never even considered them a pair until I read those blogs. At that point, I only watched the animation. After I had read the manga and re-watched the animation. I never really seen what is claimed in these blogs. IF anything these blogs has made me turn away from the Kagura and Sesshoumaru pairing.
I am more of a Kagura and Koga or Kagura and (a better version of) Naraku kind of fan. But mostly Kagura by herself being free like the wind.

  14. I'm very happy to find this.
Kagura and Sesshomaru are an example of underrated ship, even when the true is that they are cannon. Sometimes the ship doesn't need to happen to be "cannon". A execution like Rumimo Takahashi did with Kagura and Sessh was perfect, because it was tragic and touching. She has feelings for him, but she was killed... and he, being a demon, who hardly acknowledge feelings (we can't judge Sesshoumaru like a human person, he is not human, he is a demon) develops a soft spot for her and was very troubled and angry with himself, with Naraku, because he didn't save her.

Remember when Kikyo was killed by Naraku? and Sesshomaru told Inuyasha that he committed a serious error because he does not arrive in time to save her. A painful parallel.

  16. As a Kagura and sesshoumaru shipper, I honestly really surprised at how quickly Sesshoumaru fell in love with Kagura, I didn't think he was the type of person to fall in love with someone he barely knew, but I freaking love this ship so its all cool but wow. Thanks for taking your time to write all of this!

  17. I don't think Sesshomaru fell for her particularly fast. I think it happened sometime along the way, but to be honest, all of the romantic relationships on Inuyasha are like this. How long did it even take Kagome to start declaring her love for Inuyasha?? Not long. Or Sango and Miroku. I think we look at it in a too westernized perspective when we assume love is about a timetable and not about two souls connecting and being made for each other.

Kagome and Inuyasha had fallen in love pretty early on but they spend the entire anime/manga running around in circles over the fact. Inuyasha seems to be somewhat clueless and oblivious of the fact that Kagome loves him. He's also oblivious of the fact that Sango had feelings for Miroku. Miroku somewhat knew about Sango's feelings for him but still seemed oblivious of the extent of those feelings. There seems to be a trope in this anime/manga that the guy is clueless to the girl's feelings and advances. I think that parallels Sesshomaru and Kagura too. He assumes Kagura's request is just about using him to do her bidding; he misses the fact she could very well have gone to Kikyo or Inuyasha to free her, but she chose him. She continuously went to him, even after he declined. And when Inuyasha offered to help her, she declined his offer. Now, most of us understand it's because she loved the moron, but he seems to be oblivious of this fact. It's only after Rin points out that Kagura is in love with him that he seems to warm up to her; from there on, he begins to protect her secret from Naraku and actively tries to save her. Not only did he run to her when she was dying, but he went out of his way to let her know that he specifically came knowing it was her. Sesshomaru is the last person to admit something like that to ANYONE. He actually differentiated her scent from Naraku's. And like the OP has pointed out, this is the opposite of how Rumiko Takahashi handles unrequited love in her work.

Naraku only reveals his true intentions and feelings for Kikyo at his very last moment.

This entire show is about people hiding their true feelings. So when people say "Oh, I think it was too soon for him to have fallen in love with her" or "I don't think he loved her because he never outwardly states it" It just kind of blows my mind how much people don't like to read between the lines or take things like time and culture into consideration.
LOL, why would someone like Sesshomaru, with all his reservedness and stoicism, be shouting his love for her at the top of his lungs anyways?? I actually like this subtle approach Rumiko Takahashi used for him and Kagura. It suits them.

    1. I would not say it is a westernized perspective. The issue is in the west women like to ride the carousel until 30 and then when no guy wants them anymore they search for guys to marry. In traditional societies where being a slut is shamed and women tend to marry young love matters are much simpler because the women's list of demands is much much shorter. The list of demands western women have for men is so long than at most 10% of men are able to pass enough checkpoints to be considered as a possible mate by most women. In fact most women have a list of demands so long that no man can ever be good enough for them.
About the whole needing to proclaim your love this comes from romantic movie and trashy love novels women read. Thsi caused them to expect these kind of things.

  18. Hi! I'm a Sesshomaru-Kagura shipper and I 100% agree with you. I don't understand why so many in Inuyaha's audience claim that there is no evidence that Sesshomaru felt something for her! Of course Sesshomaru's feelings for Rin seem stronger but he never showed a romantic interest in her, it's just a father-daughter relashionship! In my opinion Sesshomaru wasn't in love yet but I think that, if Kagura survived, he definitely would! It was just the beginning of a feeling that wasn't yet bloomed because it didn't have the time! Honestly I'm a little bit angry with Rumiko Takahashi because I think, at least, she could survive her and join Sesshoumaru's group with Jaken and Rin so we, Sesshomaru-Kagura shippers, could daydream about of a romantic relashionship together. ;_; But, you know what? Inuyasha it's only an anime and everything can happen in an anime, even that dead can come back to life! So in my fantasies, in the future he'll resurrect her, and they'll get together. Sigh, I hope Rumiko at least let me keep on fantasizing on them... I respect who ships Sesshomaru-Rin but honestly I really don't like the idea of them as lovers she's too sweet and innocent, he needs a badass woman like Kagura at his side!

I'm so glad there are still fans of this couple around! *__* I'm a shipper since 2002 and I'll be forever I think because I think they would have been such a great couple. ;_; Sesshomaru is my favourite character since the first episode where he appeared and I ship Kagura with him since the first episode she appeared because I immediately had the feeling that she liked him and I thought she was perfect for him. XD Unfortunately we all know how it ended but this doesn't change the fact that they are canon! And of course I'm still an Inuyasha fan too! :-D

  19. Kagura would have died either way. Remember Byakuya and what he said: when Naraku dies they all automatically die. But hey since Naraku was friend from the shikon jewel maybe Kagura can reincarnate in the future and since demons are virtually immortal age wise they can still be together.

    2. Well, anything can happen in a manga, even dead characters can revive, if only the author (Rumiko) wants it. And that's the problem! Probably if she wanted the couple to form officially, Kagura wouldn't die. Furthermore, it's also extremely rare for a secondary anime character to come back to life. I fear that this couple will remain only in our fantasies. :-( But the fact that Rumiko decided that Rin should stay with Kaede makes me think that the author is also not in favor of the Sesshoumaru-Rin couple. So I'll keep on daydreaming that, in some way, in the future, Sesshomaru will revive her!

    3. I do not know. She often was undecided regarding the fate of her characters. Most of her manga have an open ending including the most recent. We should be thankful the main plot lines got a definite ending. Remember how long Kouga stayed around.

    4. Honestly I'm very satisfied about Inuyasha's ending. This is the first time, in a manga of Rumiko Takahashi, that we can see almost all cannon couples happen! Only Maison Ikkoku had a happy ending for all couples but it's a romantic manga so the happy ending was neccessary. Regarding Inuyasha, the only couple that had no happy ending was my ship Sesshomaru-Kagura... ;_; But I think Sesshomaru-Rin shippers can't be 100% satisfied too because, if the couple will really happen in the future, nobody knows!

    1. Read that piece of fluff myself. First off any online article without comments is not trustworthy. Second the fact that it treats the piece of feminist trash known as Yashahime which shits on Inuyasha lore as cannon again shows that the person does not know what it talks about. Third blamk statements are made without arguments. Except for fanon there is no official comment from anyone in authority to backup it. There are plenty of comments from Rumiko that can be used as circumstantial evidence that Sesh Rin is a father daughter relationship. Not one to argument to opposite. More than that except for Kinka and Ginka arc the differences between manga and anime are minimal despite its claims.

    2. Hey!! Thanks for your comment. I just read your piece of "fluff".
Your first Point: Comments have nothing to do with trustworthy or not. Comments are made by anyone with knowledge or not look at this page, It is the comments that are not trustworthy. The majority, if not all of Academic Journals have no comments even some news channels websites don't have comments. Your point is invalid.
Your second point. Either shows you did not read the blog, can't comprehend the blog, or you know it is true in what they put and trying to make it false. clap clap. The majority of that blog is on the manga and the first series. They called it studio cannon because of the Drama CD which is officially made. If you are calling that feminist trash be prepare for the magazine focusing on the new series with RT. Therefore you insulted yourself and RT. Clap clap. one cannot be a true fan of Inuyasha if one insults RT and the story. Maybe you should find another hobby. Your point is invalid.
Your third point. Just shows you know it is true in what they put and trying to make it false. clap clap. The drama CD backs it up. The Japanese voice actor for Sesshoumaru backs Sesshomaru X Rin. There is plenty of comments from RT that could be used a circumstantial evidence for them being lovers. Japan, China and other eastern countries back them as lovers. Father and daughter view is un-Asian-cultured westerns point of view. Your point is invalid.
Your fourth point. That blog argued the opposite where it is almost untouchable. It sides with the REAL Manga, Real japanese culture, and REAL facts. That is why you focused on an article having no comments to try to make it wrong. These old blogs, it is disputing are majority LIES. Kagura and Sesshomaru were never canon. RT said it was unrequited love on Kagura's behalf. It was one-side. He did not have those feelings for her. Father and Daughter is not an Asian point of view.
your fifth point. It did not claim that. It just said it was altered and explained it. Also, if they left it to the manga and not had "minimal" change. No one would think Kagura and Sesshoumaru are cannon. Way to unsupport your preparing. That blog said only with the alter version that interpretation could had been made.. They actually said there could an interpretation. They give a possibility when they did not have to at all.. Your point is invalid.
What are you going to when RT confirms it herself in a Manga where you can not deny it anymore? This comment was an attempt to make loveforsesshoumaru.blogspot.com wrong actually in fact insulted you, your reading comprehension, your disrespect for Inuyasha, the new series, Japan, Sunrise, and RT. You know that blog is the factual and valid. That is why your trying to make it wrong and put it down. You act threaten by it and the new show. You did not insult the writers of loveforsesshoumaru.blogspot.com or their hours and hours of factual research and reading the manga, that time line proving it was 4-5 months she was in Sesshomaru's care took time, and also they had translations. They knew what they were talking about and backed it up when they need to. Otherwise you can look it up yourself. You can not diss an article for having no comments, the comments don't matter, it is the article that matters. It is the factual and valid Loveforsesshoumaru.blogspot.com that matters. Good luck to you when Sesshomaru and Rin are officially announced by RT...

    3. 1. No comments article are unthrostworthy because they do not allow criticism. If you say something wrong or stupid no one can call you on it.Plenty of 'Academic' journals out there are pure bs
2.There is just one series even if the two seasons are years apart made by different studios
3.First off I would like to see those comments you quote, second the comments and work of Rumiko are what matters nit an actor's.
      4. If you read the manga is heavilly implied in the manfa as well.
      5. Have you read the manga and saw the whole show? Because your comments make me think you did not. I can count all minor differences on one hand. The site claimed anime changed Sakura death scenes. If anything in the manga is more clear he did love her.

If RT confirms it she is a sellout but generally writers stick to their original views even if the extra material is benefic as we can see with Sapowsky. You seem to be the author of that blog and besides not addressing my points consistently and writing a wall of text that sums to na-ah you proved nothing. Also I suspect you being paid by the studio that created yashahime garbage.

As a last thing in every culture I know except islam the Sesh Rin relationship seen through your eyes is disgusting. Is genetic due to increasing risk of genetic defects on closely related members.

      Delete

    4. 1.throstworthy? comes from criticism. trustworthy comes from sound factual research and citing sources. It has nothing to do with opinions of others. Those would be invalid as your point is. Again.
      2. ehhh? What are you referring too? I was talking about Inuyasha and Yashihime. Yashihime is not a season but a new series.
      3. Do you know Japanese. They would be in Japanese and you would dispute it is the wrong translation. There would be no point to give it to you because of that and how closed simple minded you are to the truth. ;) What is the point if you would not open your eyes. When all you are doing is trying to make others wrong for your superior thoughts which you think are better. I am sorry the truth is hard for you. And see another point the actor said that from his culture and his character. that was his take it was valid. you saw an opening and tried to attack it. I meant it different, it is still valid. Actor opinions matter also.
4/5 I read the manga it does not. nice try. How about you read it. As the blog pointed out if it heavily implied in between Sesshomaru and Kagura, so would it be with Inuyasha and Kagura. The anime and manga were different. In the Manga it is clear it was one side. I know he did not love Sakura at all. was there even a Sakura in the show.
RT is sellout if she goes with it? harsh. No I am not the author of the blog. I don't know Japanese, I learn a lot from them.. I wished I was being paid by Sunrise. You call it garbage because you know Rin is the mother of Setsuna and Towa. you call it garbage because you know it is going to prove you wrong.

Sesshomaru x Rin are big in MANY cultures. you must not know many cultures. It is only disgusting because you place negative values on it. It is an demon that is 19 that meet a girl at 8 and had girl with she was 17? like Sango. and he was still 19. He is not a man, He is not human. He is a demon. There is no kid grooming, there is no lolicon, There is no pedophilia, who thinks that is disgusting. This is no different from a best friend of a brother that is 17 meeting the sister at 12 and they fall in love with she is 18 and marry at when she is 20. It happens all the time. Every culture you know need to learn to take a chill pill and learn not everything is black and white. This is in the gray area and he is not a human man. He is a demon teenager. This is not a 20-year old meeting a 14 year old and getting married when he is 30 and she is 24. right now in the new series Rin is suppose to be 31 but she is looks 17ish being sealed. she is 31, Sesshomaru is 19, maybe 20. she will be 41, he would be still 19 or 20. It is only disgusting to ignorant, bigot, simple-mind people hypocrites that don't take the time to be open and understand. There is nothing disgusting with Sesshomaru and Rin. Insults.
you proved you are intimated by this paring so much so you have to lie, insult, and create false accusations to be right. Every culture you know, needs to learn take off real life values, take off black and white values. Take a moment to understand or be educated.
Scenario you would be Prolife. You fight tooth and nail, saying the bible is Prolife. I got news for your pal. The bible is actually PROCHICE. I know you don't like but your opinions or criticism is not going to change the bible. Your opinion and criticism does not matter to the bible. The mountain does not bow to the wind and you are a gentle breeze. There are not comments for the bible. I guess that is "unthrostworthy" source. Do you see how ridiculous your comment (point 1) argument is? Do you see how ridiculous your false view on this story (Prolife/one side love)is when Sesshomaru and Rin are (prochoice. Lovers) The Manga and RT clearly has it as one-sided. Your view is not support by the author or the manga and no matter how hard you try it will never make it true. The mountain (Sesshomaru X Rin/ prochoice) does not bow to the wind (you/ prolife). Learn to accept it or move on. When RT confirms it I hope you will be ready. Good luck.

    7. 1. Insult. Clearly I understood. Your point is invalid. Comments do not reflect the truth. Comments are merely just (biased) opinions. The research reflects the truth. There is no comments with the bible, news articles, etc. FYI Comments could also back the research and prove what you say. It is two-way street. I base it off their work and what they are quoting, if I can find the information on other pages, that is trustworthy. However, Again, you comment saying Sesshomaru raised Rin or Sesshomaru child-groom Rin IS being dishonest by pulling the manga totally out of its context, just to prove your right with a hideous view. Comments are irrelevant to the research or evidence. The manga does not support him raising her. Courting her and leaving her at a village is natural have been done for years in many countries is not child grooming. Sesshomaru did not build a connection with her to manipulate (HE ALWAYS LET HER CHOOSE), exploit (HE NEVER DID), and abuse (HE NEVER DID) them. She was not groomed to be sexually abused, exploited or to be trafficked. That is sick. Anyone who compares the relationship between Sesshoumaru and Rin as child grooming is sick. She was with Him for only 4 to 5 months and she took care of herself mostly. Jaken was the one taking care of her otherwise. Sesshomaru protected her. DID NOT RAISE HER. Then she lived in Kaede's village for years since he left her there and he visited her. He courted her which courtship is different in Japan than from the USA. Courting is not dating. He did not date her. TO suggested otherwise is sick. It is not Sesshomaru and Rin being a couple that is sick with the real story of the manga and anime. It is the people that place invalid judgements on them. Applying that hideous view is applying black and white real-life views on a fantasy world in a different country in the past IS WRONG. Child grooming is not support with them getting together. Know the facts. I will not be persuaded by your lies. I stand with the truth and the real story from the Manga. How could someone stoop so low, it is disgusting.
      2. I don’t know why you made that point towards me but okay.
      3. Translations engines could be wrong. I put in I want to go fishing and I got I want to be lamplight. DO NOT TRUST ONLINE ENGINES. They have gotten better by they will still be wrong.
      4. IF you have read it 4/5 times how do you not pick up it is one-sided. Sesshomaru did not like her romantically or love her. He only platonically liked her. Fanon is okay. But taking established fixed relationship and forcing two people together when one clearly doesn’t have those feelings is wrong trying to made it canon. How would you want to be force to be with someone you don’t love? He was learning about compassion because of Rin and he just was learning how to be compassionate to others. He did not have the fear or sorrow of losing some one he loved with Kagura. He plationically loved Rin and slowly he started to fall in love with her. Since grooming did not happen, There should be no problem nor should it be disgusting.
      5. The new series, it about the girls and their story. The Shikon no tama is gone but there are 7 pearls. They are focusing on new characters, that had no character building in the old series. Ps. In the first episode the flashback to Inuyasha and the gang is manga canon, you are calling that garbage. I was going to say no to extensive list because it would be a pack of lies but I would love to see RT work being called garbage by someone who tries to say they support it because that is the special episode she released a few years ago.

Just because you don’t believe something does not make the other person on drugs. I am not claiming it, it is factual. The bible claims, it is pro-choice.

    8. Now, I don't care about any arguments you have on this. if you want to argue take it them not me. Yeah you can provide articles saying the other thing but if you read those articles they are more opinion and no evidence backing. They could not really support that the bible was pro-life and just claimed. However, the pro choice breaks into the scriptures. One of the articles I am posting had an refutation however, it was mostly opinions without facts and just attacking the article writer and totally focus on the author so not a true refutation. No real backing. God even performs an abortion and abortion was real common in those times said in one of the commentless articles. If you want to fight it, contact the people of the articles. It is not my fight and I am not interested. I am just comparing this when the people who are pro life can not use the bible for support. You can say what happen is that Sesshomaru groomed Rin, that he loved Kagura it is not supported by the manga. The bible is pro-choice no matter what article you post it will not change the words in the bible. It is the words from the bible not articles that are important. The words of the bible is pro choice.

"So ends our little foray into anti-choicers' own territory, the Bible. Perhaps, if they truly feel inspired to follow God's higher law, they would do well to embark on a careful study of the Bible to find out exactly what God supposedly said before rushing out to defend his word. That which they hold sacred they have twisted or ignored to suit their own personal agenda." The bible: RT Manga. These two old blogs and people claiming grooming and whatnot have twisted or ignored the manga to suit their own personal agenda.

Anti-choicers (pro life) don't have a biblical leg to stand on...

the anti-Sesshomaru x Rin, or that Seshomaru returned Kagura feelings don't have a manga-ical leg to stand on.

"It is dishonest to conclude from this verse that a fetus is a human being deserving of more protection than women. The passage is poetic prose that anti-choicers have twisted and trivialized by giving it a literal, objective meaning where there is none."

the same can be apply here with on this blog.

      Scriptural truths

Ten biblical episodes and prophecies provide an unequivocal expression of God's attitude toward human life, especially the ontological status of "unborn children" and their pregnant mothers-to-be. Brief summaries:

      • A pregnant woman who is injured and aborts the fetus warrants financial compensation only (to her husband), suggesting that the fetus is property, not a person (Exodus 21:22-25).

      Delete
    9. • The gruesome priestly purity test to which a wife accused of adultery must submit will cause her to abort the fetus if she is guilty, indicating that the fetus does not possess a right to life (Numbers 5:11-31).

      • God enumerated his punishments for disobedience, including "cursed shall be the fruit of your womb" and "you will eat the fruit of your womb," directly contradicting sanctity-of-life claims (Deuteronomy 28:18,53).

      • Elisha's prophecy for soon-to-be King Hazael said he would attack the Israelites, burn their cities, crush the heads of their babies and rip open their pregnant women (2 Kings 8:12).

      • King Menahem of Israel destroyed Tiphsah (also called Tappuah) and the surrounding towns, killing all residents and ripping open pregnant women with the sword (2 Kings 15:16).

      • Isaiah prophesied doom for Babylon, including the murder of unborn children: "They will have no pity on the fruit of the womb" (Isaiah 13:18).

      • For worshiping idols, God declared that not one of his people would live, not a man, woman or child (not even babies in arms), again confuting assertions about the sanctity of life (Jeremiah 44:7-8).

      • God will punish the Israelites by destroying their unborn children, who will die at birth, or perish in the womb, or never even be conceived (Hosea 9:10-16).

      • For rebelling against God, Samaria's people will be killed, their babies will be dashed to death against the ground, and their pregnant women will be ripped open with a sword (Hosea 13:16).

      • Jesus did not express any special concern for unborn children during the anticipated end times: "Woe to pregnant women and those who are nursing" (Matthew 24:19).

The Book of Exodus clearly indicates that the fetus does not have the same legal status as a person (Chapter 21:22-23). That verse indicates that if a man pushes a pregnant woman and she then miscarries, he is required only to pay a fine. If the fetus were considered a full person, he would be punished more severely as though he had taken a life

if you want to claim I am on drugs for saying the bible is pro-choice... you don't know the bible or it's words. I am not interest in debating this.. debate it else. I was just comparing it to this situation. You can't change the truth no matter how much you lie, bash others, or apply negative hideous views to something pure and special. They are true soul mates. It is a beautiful relationship. He allows her to make her decisions, he was a gentle(man)youkai. To apply negative views like child grooming is sick and awful. That applies you added things to the manga that is not there for your own personal agenda. Not knowing your insult the manga when you do that.

    10. 1. Gruesome as in curse herself? If there is no God then it would be only psychological effect. Also is never mentioned her being pregnant. More than that unlike humans God has the right over life and death of other humans
      2. Cursed does not equal murdered and again we are talking about God who has that right.
      3. So? Is a prophecy, does not make killing anyone a good thing.
      4. same
      5. God has the right to kill humans humans do not.
      6. same as #5
      7. same as #5
      8. Well consider this: If you are in a state where the government controls all resources and prohibits buying and selling without the mark of the beast would be harder for people with kids to keep their faith.
      9. First off we are talking about an accident and second it never says miscarriage but gives birth prematurely. It also mentions: "If no harm is done" i.e. if both the mother and child are ok.

You reinterpret everything as you see fit sometimes going directly against what the verses say so sorry for saying you are on drugs you are just a big liar.

An opinion or mere “COMMENT” will not disprove articles that has evidence backing. Everything I posted were from a few different articles. Not my research. It is NOT my Interpretation; you can not make ME wrong or a LAIR. Only a Lair would say that on evidence backing articles that an opinion can not affect those claims. Your opinions are irrelevant and the research still remains. Again, I said I don’t care about your arguments because when faced with the truth a comment like yours is made instead of learning. Your comment is small and weak-minded. And it is funny you DESIRE to have an argument after I said I did not care. I even told you to take your petty arguments to them, NOT ME. This is wrote by someone who is intimation by the truth. Even if you could debunk or disprove a statement. There are many more that claims that. Even in you failed argument you could not cover everything I posted on OTHERS RESEARCH that has CREDITALS and that have STUDY and RESEARCH such material. IT IS NOT MY RESEARCH. You can not prove me wrong. I don’t think you could debunk all that at all but you would have to research and study it back the claims. But I already don’t trust you because you have lie about the Manga, You have insult the special chapter of Inuyasha that RT made years ago because you are intimated by the truth. I want your MAL account I want to see how you bash her work. Comments don’t affect it especially when those comments are from someone how wants to be right and trying to disprove the truth with no leg to stand one. See how utterly ridiculously your claims and arguments are. It is hard to debunk articles and that is why you focused on the comments and trustworthiness because you know they are right and you are wrong. But you are to prideful to admit. So instead you cause arguments and poorly fight your point of view with is not the real truth. Your truth but the real truth. Those articles and the new blog have a hundred years over your comments. Thank you for showing me how to define you.

I AM NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR FALSE OPINIONS. I am not the lair here. I am not interested in learning about lies of someone who is trying to be right when they are wrong.

Kagura and Sesshomaru were NOT canon. She like him, he only feel compassion for her not like or love. It is one-side.
Sesshomaru and Rin are canon due to the drama CD and yashahime. Soon it could be canon for the manga. This was the path for years when she was writing the story. She was going to kill off Sesshomaru for sacrifice himself FOR Rin but she changed it and set it up for them to be canon when she is an adult when she was writing it.
and the bible is pro choice.
Your words will never effect the truth. I don't believe in lies. I think you reply shows you did not think I could prove it and you will fight tooth and nail to prove it wrong instead of accepting the truth. My little grasshopper you have long ways to go. Noticed you did what I wanted you to do, to show you more about you and your poor choices. And to prove you would argue how false it is, when you know it is true. Grow and learn. Learn to accept things that is truth. Learn to accept things you can not change.

Thank you, I agree with you, and I read that blog and I agree with it to a point. To a point... After the to me comment to where Sesshomaru is watching Kagura leave, The manga would disagree. Sesshomaru would watch them take off.. Kagura in 163 and other time I think, others Examples Byakuya..(403,456), I believe Naraku and many others. Them saying Sesshomaru would not watch goes against the manga. Them saying his neutral look was worried would biased. when if you look at 253 page 16 or 259 page 10, had more expression then when he watched Kagura take off in after he saved her from the water.
Sesshomaru covered for Kagura, but Kagura covered for Inuyasha. Just because you covered for someone does not imply anything.
That blog states he want to save Kagura because he put her first. That would be wrong too. She dies in 374, it is not until 409 after Moryomaru comment over Kagura does Totosai come to Sesshomaru. Totosai thinks, it's probably that.. it wasn't for yourself, but for someone else's sake, your heart was angered and had sorrow. he did not put someone else before himself until Moryomaru made that comment. He had anger. Kagome notices but she said EVEN Sesshomaru is angry, "even" others are angry. It does not imply anything. Moryomaru does taunt him but this was the second time they meet. However that blog made it like Sesshomaru was being careless and reckless when he just was pushing his sword into the hole in the armor where the jewel shard was. The blog said, "An emotion is now present inside of Sesshomaru’s body that has probably never existed before!" yes that is true and that is sadness and anger for someone else. They downplay when Rin was kidnapped to have support with their bias claim. Rin was kidnapped and safe. If it was Rin instead of Kagura, When Rin dies the second time speaks volumes. If it was Rin first his mediou would had been big as it was in 470 instead of a small crest after Kagura died. Rin is the one teaching him and changing him. Those new emotions are from Rin teaching him. Her profile is the one that change Sesshomaru not Kagura. Sesshomaru was in full control of himself when he was trying to pry the armored shell open by force. The blog says, "He seriously wants to kill Moryomaru so badly that he would risk his amazing Toikijin sword just so that he could finally put Kagura’s will to rest." Really? that is not all supported. Sesshomaru has no attachment to toikijin and all he is doing is pushing his sword into a hole to pry it open after a comment to get the jewel shard?
In chapter 471, His mother made it clear "Sesshoumaru It's something you had to learn. That when your heart wished to save someone dear to you... it must at the same time feel sadness and fear of losing them. He thinks sadness and fear. He did not have the fear of losing Kagura, She was not someone dear to him. He felt compassion, sadness, and anger for Kagura. He had no romantic feelings for Kagura. With Rin he had compassion, grief, and fear. He learned more about the weight of life with Rin's second death.

This blog does a better job at explaining.
